Unreal Engine 4 - UMG Minimap Introduction


Dynamic UMG Minimap is a Widget blueprint that can be easily integrated into any project.
In your vault you can simply click on add to project and the minimap files will be added to your project instantly.

Because it's a widget blueprint you can easily control the way the minimap works, if you wish to modify how everything is done or change/add to the its appearance you can do that, everything is exposed.



Whether you're making a single player or multiplayer game this minimap got your back.
Here's a list of features available so far:

  • Circular or rectangular style
  • Can rotate/fixed
  • Zoom in and out
  • Add and track actors location and rotation
  • Add markers
  • Height system (indicates if something is above/below you)
  • Add persistent actors that can be tracked in the minimap even when they're off screen
  • Change minimap texture in game
  • Make a world map with zoom and drag
  • Show tooltips on hover
  • Change the color/size of anything you add to the minimap at runtime
  • Add/Change/Remove/Resize minimap border in game.
  • Clicking on the minimap will return the world location
  • If an actor is no longer valid it'll get removed from the minimap automatically.
